· This is a tax credit, not an itemized deduction!
· If you work for a large corporation, they may double your gift! Check with your company.
· Check with your accountant but you can also claim a federal tax write off.
· The amount of your state income tax for the year will be reduced by the full amount of your donation!
· Don’t forget that you can give to this and to public schools maximizing your credit up to $1400 for a married couple.
ONE REALLY NICE THING: TEMPE SCHOOLS CREDIT UNION WILL GIVE YOU A NO INTEREST LOAN IF YOU WANT TO GIVE TO THIS AND DON'T REQUIRE PAYMENT BACK UNTIL AFTER YOU GET YOUR TAX RETURN!!
For privacy reasons, ACSTO is not permitted to inform us of your donation so we thank you in advance!
SUPPORT A STUDENT AT NO COST TO YOU!!!
We are truly grateful our children have been able to receive a Christ-centered education because of generous Arizona state tax payers who direct their state income taxes to support education.
As a tax a payer, you will receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit for every dollar contributed to our much needed funding (up to $500 for singles, and $1000 if married filing jointly). This also qualifies as a charitable deduction on your Federal Income Tax Return.
The following examples illustrate how the Arizona Tuition Tax Credit works, and why your tax credit contributions can help our family…at no cost to you!
· Most people have taxes deducted through payroll deductions. Anything paid to the State over and above taxes owed will increase the size your tax return.
· The program works in addition to the public school extracurricular activities and work poor tax credit.
· The law changed this year allowing you up to April 15th to donate for the 2010 tax year. I recommend determining your tax liability and to see what the actual and maximum benefit to you will be and donating just prior to doing your taxes. Let me know if you need a reminder phone call at a certain date!
To help, all you need to do is the following:
1. Determine the amount of tax dollars you want to redirect.
2. Fill out the attached form and recommend one of our children for a scholarship
Caleb, Josiah, Elaina, or Abner Ingegneri at Gilbert Christian School
3. Claim on your tax return!
ACSTO will mail you a receipt documenting the amount you gave. If you have further questions, you may reach us at 480-495-3501. We appreciate your consideration in supporting our family and Christian education. For more information about the statute you can also visit http://www.acsto.com/.
REMEMBER WHEN YOU DONATE TO SPECIFY CALEB, JOSIAH, OR ELAINA OR ABNER AT GILBERT CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS . NEW FOR 2010 TAX YEAR. YOU HAVE UNTIL APRIL 15TH TO DONATE.

Abner Update

Abner has a few more years to go until school but thought you might all want an update anyway. Abner has pretty much taken over the family. He is cute and he knows it. He gets about is much attention as any 1st born child. The kids love him. He is always full of smiles and laughs. He is starting to make out words. He is all boy and his favorite and most stated word is - "ball."
Elaina Update

Elaina is doing preschool at home this year. She is involved in tap and ballet at a city class. She loves art and dancing. She is doing great in phonics. Elaina will be going to Kindergarten next year at Surrey Garden. We are very excited and I think she is more. The picture above shows Elaina right next to a butterfly at the Desert Botanical Gardens.
Josiah Update

Josiah is 1st grade this year and has really excelled in school. We are very proud of Josiah in learning like the back of his hand his first set of 15 memory verses. Josiah is about the biggest dbacks fan around, loves music, and loves to dance and make us laugh. One major focus for this year has been cashing in from the tooth fairy.
Caleb update

Caleb is in transition this year to a modified home school program. He goes to school two days a week and Angie teaches him at home the other 3 days. Caleb misses his friends at his old school but he knows and so do we that this is the better option for him this year. He is still involved in cub scouts which allows him to see all his friends and will be playing on a football team with most of them starting in January. He is a wonderful big brother and just all around sweet guy.
ACSTO and Us
HI Friends and family,
We created this blog to help keep those of you who have given so faithfully to ACSTO over the years updated on how the kids are doing.
For those of you who haven't heard us go on an on about this already, ACSTO stands for Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization and has just been an unbelievable blessing to us by allowing the opportunity to send our kids to private school. In short, Arizona has a law that a married couple can give up to a 1000 and a single person can give up to 500 to a tuition organization and get a full tax credit back on taxes owed to the State. You can donate online and research more about this at http://www.acsto.com/.
Angie and I both had the privilege of going to Christian schools and felt it was a benefit to us in life. We have from the beginning of our marriage wanted the same for our kids. We have been blessed thus far to be able to give them this but with even better schools and teachers than both Angie and I ever would have imagined. Thanks for visiting. We’ll update periodically with new pictures and updates about the kids.
